Races In All Different Place

I found a fun new blog to stalk.  It's this girl who just recently got married, runs, and is a lawyer.  Her wedding pics are BEAUTIFUL! And I loved looking back at when she was training for a marathon and reading her thoughts and experiences about that.  So it motivated me to look back at the races I've run and how I've come along in running.
Belive it or not my first real distance race was a full marathon.  That was back in August of 2005 when I was 19 years old.  I got first place in my age division cause I was the only one in it! Haha! Very encouraging though.

(Wasn't the course beautiful!? Waterfalls, forest, bike trails, potato fields.  What more could you want on a run?)
After that I didn't really run too much.  Got busy with my sophomore year of college and went off to Ecuador.  When I came back from Ecuador fat it motivated me to start running again.  So I found a friend and we trained for the Rex Lee Run 10K in Provo, UT in March 2007.  Then in July we ran the Teton Dam Half Marathon together.

I went on the mission and ate tons of Mexican food and got fat again and so when I got back I was motivated to run again.  In June of 2009 I ran the Seattle Rock and Roll Marathon, did that one solo.

My Hubby (at the time fiancee) and Sister Ashley were there to cheer me on.

Then found my running bud Haley and started doing a bunch of fun little races; The Frosty Four miler in February of 2010, Shamrock Cup 6K in March, and the Wenatchee Half Marathon in April.  I felt a little bit depressed once the Wenatchee Half was over cause I was looking forward to it so much and working so hard towards it.  So I just had to sign up for another one so I had something else to look forward to.  I'm running the Pacific Crest Half Marathon at the end of June.  This weekend is the Zillah Fun Run 10K.
My goal for the 10K is to purposefully reign myself in at the start so that I can have a fast finish.  I've been doing this on my long runs and it's felt really good.  Could totally be mental.  But whatever works right?
So here are my running stats.  (More for my info than anything)

  2. You are a very gifted runner! Very inspiring! I read the 'about me' in your profile, and we have a few things in common! I'm an elementary teacher, and I love Jillian Michaels too! On that note, keep an eye out for my next post! :)
