Tunex Field Trip

The field trip for Brooklyn's preschool classes transportation unit was to the car shop, Tunex.

St. Patrick's Day 2017

This year Brooklyn was very excited about St. Patrick's day.  Or as she likes to call it "Leprechaun Day".  She made sure to remind us all to wear green beforehand as I'm sure her preschool teacher was reminding the kids.
The night before Thomas was looking all over Walmart at 9pm to try and find a St. Patrick's day shirt.  He ended up finding her a cute green shirt and getting a necklace and stickers as well.
Brooklyn and I made a leprechaun trap together that had a ladder and slide and inside she put leprechaun bait snack mixture that her and Thomas had made (pretzles, melted white chocolate, m&m's,  Lucky Charm's and Chex cereal) .  That sneaky leprechaun cut his way out of the box! He did leave some gold Hershey Kisses, green watermelon Peeps,  and a note behind though.

Backstreet Boys Concert

A teenage dream came true for me!! I got to go to a Backstreet Boys concert! They reunited to perform for a few months in Las Vegas at Axis Planet Hollywood. My sister Ashley met up with me in Vegas for a fun weekend together.
I drove down and picked her up from the airport Friday evening.  We headed to drop our bags at the hotel then went to dinner at a nice Mexican restaurant.
Saturday we slept in and then went to brunch and The Cracked Egg.  So yum! Did a little shopping and got mani pedis.  Went back to the hotel for a nap before heading out for a fancy dinner.  Dinner was right next door to Planet Hollywood where the concert was held. While standing in line to get into the concert it was funny to here and feel the excitement from all of us 30 something year olds.
The concert did not disappoint.  They sounded just as good as they did on the radio in the 90's and the dancing was killer.
Sunday morning Ashley and I both headed home.  Such a quick fun weekend.

Ashley bought her and I these matching vintage looking Backstreet Boys jackets after the concert.

Pregnancy

I keep wishing I was better at documenting this pregnancy!
Since 20 weeks here is what has been going on:
- I was finally able to start working out consistently! We got a family membership to the rec center so that I can go to classes and we can take Brooky swimming. I've been going to Master's Swim class, Body Pump, Cycling, and Barre. It feels so good to get out of the house and to be staying active.
- I've tried going off of Diclegis for nausea at 24 weeks and 28 weeks but would end up throwing up so am still taking it.
- Have gone to the chiropracter to help with pain in my back right ribs.  I had the same pain when pregnant with Brooklyn.  Not sure how much the chiro has helped.  Anytime I sit for more than a few minutes it starts to hurt and especially if I have just eaten. Icing seems to help some.
- The heartburn kicked in STRONG around 20 weeks.  Now that I'm 30 weeks it's faded a bit.  I've been trying to chew on peppermint gum after meals and that helps some along with staying upright.
- Cravings: Green grapes.  Earlier in pregnancy H20 just did not appeal to me and would actually make me throw up so I was chugging the orange juice and cranberry juice.
- Food Aversions: For awhile I couldn't stand the thought of mashed potatoes (this was unfortunately around the holidays too when they were everywhere it seemed). The smell of meat.
- I was really worried about the glucose test.  With Brooklyn I almost passed out and felt so sick! This time I didn't have the test first thing in the morning so I could eat a good protein filled breakfast and lunch which helped so much.  I originally had Britt coming with me in case I passed out but at the last minute Thomas was able to come.  No problems at all and I don't have gestational diabetes.
- Since about 26 weeks I've been getting up 3-5 times a night to go pee.
- This baby boy loves to move at night when I'm laying down.  That's my favorite part of pregnancy, feeling the baby move and kick.

February Photo Dump

Brooklyn gets so excited when we pass by the baby section at a store.  This particular time she stood in front of the cart so Thomas couldn't get past the aisle til he took her to check out baby stuff.

Brooklyn has become quite the little artist.  Lately she has wanted to paint/draw trolls.

This is of her and baby brother jump roping.

 Branch from the movie
 Cute little bob haircut.

Trip to Scheels to ride the Ferris wheel.

Our friends the Crowell's from Boise were in the area and we got together with them for dinner one night.  Brooklyn and Anna have known each other since they were newborns.  I met Pammy, Anna's mom, at a breastfeeding support class.

Brooklyn is on the left about to push off the wall and swim across the width of the pool.  She has started swimming lessons and has taken off with her swimming skills. She can now swim across the pool, jump off the edge and swim back, float on her back, and dive to get a ring at the bottom (of the shallow end).  I've been so impressed.  She has an amazing teacher who teaches out of the home of one of Brooklyn's classmates from preschool. She goes two times a week and has two other kids in her class. Swimming is another one of Brooklyn's hobbies.

Gateway Discovery Children's Museum SLC

One weekend we took a little trip to Salt Lake to take Brooky to the Gateway Discovery Children's Museum. We had been before when Brooklyn was little, little so this was a new type of experience.
