Halloween 2015

Halloween started off early for me! I ran the Provo Haunted Half that morning with my friends Lauren and Felicia. Lauren and I had been training together and this was her first half! I had been training for the race but waiting to sign up when a local running store had a facebook giveaway for two free entries.  I ended up winning! Lauren had already signed up so I asked my friend Felicia if she wanted to run it and she was game.  Felicia and I run together once a week or so and it's so nice cause she just lives across the street from me.
The race goes down Provo Canyon and was perfect running weather and beautiful scenery.  I told Lauren I would stick with her as long as she wanted me to.  At mile 10 we split up and mile 11 or so Felicia and I split up.  Everybody finished happy! I so wanted to sign up for another one as I felt really good and ready to beat my previous PR. Unfortunately in these parts there aren't really any half's in the winter.  But I'm keeping up my training through the cold so that come spring I am ready to go.
After the half Felicia and I spotted a running blogger that we both really admire and were able to chat with her and snap a picture.  A couple weeks later Janae (the blogger) and I  got our girls together for a swimming play date.  Such a fun way to end a great race!

Later that day we had Lauren and her family over for chili and cornbread and then we headed to our ward's trunk or treat.
For trick or treating we went a couple blocks over since our neighborhood for some reason didn't seem to have many people home. We ended up tagging along with our neighbors the Higbee's which was so fun for Brooklyn.  Her and their two oldest kids were just running from house to house.  Brooklyn normally is very hesitant at first to talk to strangers but she would say trick or treat and thank you loud and clear the whole night.
Brooklyn especially loved when we got home and being in charge of passing out candy to trick or treaters who came to our door.
We continued our "switch witch" tradition where she gets to eat however much candy she wants on Halloween and then the next day Thomas takes it to school/work and I take Brooklyn to get a toy in its stead. This is mainly because I just can't have candy around the house for me! Brooklyn will have a piece or two and then forget about it. At Target she chose a Disney Princess play-doh set that she's gotten a lot of use out of.
Happy Halloween 2015!
