Love Em' or Lose Em' 5K
Our first race of the year was the Valentine's Love em of Lose em 5K. I had not been running except for maybe once every other week so I had no time goal and come to find out the race wasn't even timed! We had a babysitter for Brooklyn that morning and it was a fun event to do together for Valentine's day.

We had our annual Team Beef Orientation this year at the Grove Hotel in downtown Boise. For every race you run in your Team Beef shirt you get a raffle ticket for the end of the year raffle. This year Thomas and I got lucky and were chosen for a $100 Southwest Airlines gift card, a $50 restaurant gift card, and a $50 running store gift card. After the orientation we all were given tickets to watch the Idaho Steelheads ice hockey game and provided dinner. We LOVE being part of Team Beef!
We attended a cowboy themed birthday party at Jump Time. Brooklyn's favorite part was those darn machine rides. In the picture of her sitting in the train ride she is doing what we call her "duck lips" it's this little facial expression she gives when she is thinking that is adorable. She LOVES wearing these cowgirl boots that are cousin hand me downs. After the birthday party she had a hat to match.
Brooklyn and her cute little friends at library story time. We've done some art projects that involve tracing your hand so she also wanted her head traced as well.
Cute Sunday selfie. Thomas does his best to match his tie to Brooklyn's outfit.

Brooklyn's First Time Ice Skating
Brooklyn went ice skating for the first time this winter and had a blast! We met up with our friends Pammy and Anna. Pammy takes lessons as an adult and is a fantastic ice skater so it was nice to have someone with some expertise.
I was surprised at how long Brooklyn lasted and so proud that she would get right back up if she slipped and just laugh it off.

Our sneaky cute toddler
Me: Brooklyn I missed you so much today!
Brooklyn: (giving me a big hug) You're my best friend!
B: What are they doing to that tree?
Me: They are chopping it all up.
B: We could get some tape and put it back together!
B: Can we go bike trailering?
Thomas: I have to go to work Brooky.
B: But I don't want you to go Daddy, I love you.
We were in a public restroom and I was having some tummy issues. There was someone in another stall and Brooklyn was in the stall with me saying in the loudest voice:
"You pooping mommy? Push, push, push! It's kinda stinky in here!"
She is in a VERY sneaky stage lately. She likes to play with water so will get her bath toys and start playing with toilet water. The other day we were about to go somewhere and she mentions "I put water in daddy's shoes." Sure enough we look at one of his shoes and it's filled with toilet water.
I see her dart from our room as I'm getting ready one day. I follow about 30 seconds later to discover her butt naked under the table. She not only drew with marker on the underside of the table but also all along her butt crack.

Snowshoeing at Bogus Basin
In January we drove up to Bogus Basin and met some friends to go snowshoeing. In previous years we have put Brooklyn in a sled but this year we just borrowed a hiking backpack and carried her on our backs, let her hike, or she hopped in a sled with friends.
I think we ended up doing about a 2.5 mile loop and the kids did great. We have had a winter with a lot of inversion so it was nice to get up on the mountain where we were above the clouds and could see the blue sky and sun!
