April Roundup

My friend Kelsey and I went to Wicked together! I had been dying to see this play for a long time and it was even better than expected. Brooklyn got a sleeve of tattoos courtesy of her dad. There was lots of rain in April so we took advantage and puddle jumped a lot. Brooklyn liked to wear her hand me down pink cowgirl boots from her cousin.
Brooklyn ate a whole container of salsa in one sitting.
I swear overnight my baby turned into a toddler. Spring arrived! I've appreciated spring so much this year. Perfect weather for running along the greenbelt and playing outdoors.
The spring/summer birthday parties began. Lots of babies born in the spring!
Brooklyn discovered she enjoyed finger painting.
4 wheeling with our neighbor. This girl loves to play with her tea set.
Thomas ran his first sprint triathlon! I am so proud of him! He has such a busy schedule but he put in time training and really enjoyed it.
Brooklyn learned how to pick dandelions and blow on them.
We boogied at the library to some live kids musician.
Went to the free day at the art museum to play in the children's area.
Took advantage of our Botancial Gardens membership and went as a family and later with friends. We like to watch the fish in the pond, throw rocks in the water (not where the fish are), go in the tree house and run around, play with the musical instruments in the children's garden, and swing on the porch swing they have. My old roomie Brittani came to visit with her boyfriend (now fiance!).

Walking with Mama

Brooklyn had an Elmo easter basket this year. Inside were: The book "I Love You Through and Through", temporary tattoos, stick on earrings, dried strawberries, and scarves to use for dancing (she loves them at her Boogie Babies class and now likes to dance with them when I put on music).
 This Easter was so exciting because Brooklyn was able to hunt for eggs and understand a little about the holiday.
We had quite a few Easter egg hunts she was able to participate in.
The first was through Boise Babies and Tots group.  The nice thing about this event was that the eggs were filled with things other than candy.  Ideas included were finger puppets, mardi gras bead necklaces, stickers, temporary tattoos, goldfish crackers, etc.
The second egg hunt was at a park near my in-laws.  Their church put it on and the eggs were empty and then the kids handed them in for a bag of candy.  I liked this idea because it didn't matter how many eggs you collected you still received the same amount of candy.

The third hunt was on Easter when we went to my in-laws with the Harris'.  Kelsey and I scattered eggs and the girls collected. The girls liked opening each egg as soon they picked it up, looking inside, and moving on to the next egg.
Fun times spent with family and friends.

Second Pro Haircut

I took Brooklyn back to the place we got her first professional haircut to get her hair all evened up.  I'm happy to stay it is all nice and straight and even.  She's got the cutest little bob haircut.
My friend from book club, Laria, works at a salon just for kids.  She is super sweet, fast, and does a great job.
This time we planned to go with Brooklyn's friend Hallie.  I had high hopes that if Brooklyn saw Hallie getting her haircut with no tears that she would be brave.  And... she did awesome! No tears this time.  The girls loved rocking around in the little jeep while Laria snipped around them.
A little bribery of a sucker and smarties afterwards helped too.
