Portland Trip

Because Wells surgery and recovery went so well we were able to do a bit of exploring around Portland the following couple days.

We visited the Children's Museum which was a HUGE hit! Brooklyn had so.much.fun.  There was a big vet clinic that she spent a lot of time at, a pottery room where kids can make things with clay, a water room, even a room for babies to crawl around.  We didn't expect to, but we ended up spending pretty much the whole day at the Children's Museum.

When we were ready for lunch we decided to make it an adventure and take the train.  It was super convenient since the station was right next to the museum and that way we didn't have to deal with traffic or parking downtown.  For lunch we went to Pine Street Market which is like a big indoor food court with a huge variety of different types of food.  I got a Korean bowl, Thomas got specialty ramen, and Brooklyn got pizza and custard.

After lunch we headed back to the Children's Museum where we stayed until closing time.  Once we were back to the hotel it was my turn to get to go swimming with Brooklyn.  That night we ordered food to go and enjoyed dinner while watching the olympics.

The next day we were planning on going for a hike but decided at the last minute to enjoy the zoo instead.  Brooklyn was absolutely fascinated by the lions.  There were 3 or 4 of them lying right next to the glass windows and she stood there for at least 20 minutes admiring them.  Once our time at the zoo was up we headed home.

The trip home was a bit longer than expected due to snow on the pass which had us sitting in the car for an hour and a half.  The kids were troupers though and we ended up getting home safe and sound that night.
