Western Caribean: Cozumel

Our last port of call was Cozumel.  We had a full day of adventure here. Our scheduled excursion didn't start until 1pm so once the boat had docked Thomas and I got a taxi to take us to the nearest beach where we found someone to take us parasailing. Ever since I went to Puerta Vallarta, Mexico with my family when I was about 16 I have wanted to go parasailing.  It was such an exhilarating lift off and then a nice relaxing scenic ride. It feels like you are on a swing high above the turquoise water.
The guy helping us at the beach wanted to model my shirt.

Unfortunately, I couldn't have my phone with me for the rest of our time in Cozumel. We went on our excursion where we rented wave runners and cruised around (I was the driver and accidentally dumped Thomas at one point). Then we got snorkel gear and went on a guided snorkel tour and saw some awesome fish and we were even pretty close to the shore.

We ended our day doing a little shopping where we got Brooky a little wooden guitar and a fan (she calls it her "van") and us and my parents a little Christmas tree ornament.

Western Caribean Cruise: Grand Cayman Island

We chose to just spend the day at the beach in Grand Cayman.  Once we got off the boat we got a taxi to take us to the beach where we paid to rent a couple of beach chairs and beach umbrella and we set up camp.  The water there was GORGEOUS! So clear and turquiose.  We spent the day swimming, collecting sea shells, and laying out and reading. Perfection.

Western Caribean Cruise: Monego Bay, Jamaica

In Jamaica we chose to go on a Kayaking/Ziplining excursion. Our guides were awesome and the members of our group were super entertaining and enthusiastic as well.

Our school has a "Where in the world is Scenic View" spot on their website where people post where they have been with their Scenic View shirts so I made sure to take mine.

We started out ziplining.

Followed by kayking.  My favorite part was that partway through the river there was a rope swing that we got to jump off of into the river.

Western Caribean Cruise: Days at Sea

The itinerary for our 7 day cruise looked like this:
Day 1: Board and at sea
Day 2: Day at Sea
Day 3: Montego Bay Jamaica
Day 4: Grand Cayman
Day 5: Cozumel, Mexico
Day 6: Day at Sea
Day 7: Day at Sea

I actually loved having so many days at sea because we could just completely relax.  I took a nap most days and slept 13 hours one night! We went to lots of the dancing and singing shows, watched people sing karaoke, enjoyed a comedy show, spent hours next to the pool (I finished three books), watched movies under the stars, worked out at the gym, and ate lots of yummy food.

This was one of the dress up nights.

We both tried escargot for the first time.  It's not bad but not something I would choose to order again.
Here we are at the kareoke bar.  We were so surprised that 90% of the people were REALLY good at singing! Very enjoyable and entertaining to watch.

Watching one of the nightly movies on the pool deck.
