Provo Farmer's Market and Utah Lake Festival

I LOVE farmer's market. It feels so satisfying to buy local and fresh. This was our fist time at the Provo Farmer's Market and we really liked it. It's a lot smaller than the one in Boise but still has the things we like. We ended up with some fresh salsa and a soy candle. Next time on our list is some local raw honey. There is a park and splash pad right next to the market which makes the trip enjoyable for a certain toddler as well. This particular Saturday they were handing out balloons and free cookie samples and had a bubble machine going. Toddlers dream fulfilled.

After the market we headed to the Utah Lake Festival. They had booths set up with games, informational booths on water safety, wagon rides, boat rides, fishing, sand castle building, etc. Britt and her gang including her boyfriend and his daughter and her sister and her girls met us there which was an extra dose of fun. I love finding fun free community activities to do. photo IMG_8608_zpsxqzzd7rm.jpg photo IMG_8594_zpsj5gqeoep.jpg photo IMG_8595_zpsoitvrnhu.jpg photo IMG_8601_zpscc5d3o6t.jpg photo IMG_8602_zpsucapzcmb.jpg photo IMG_8603_zpsn0o1lnar.jpg photo IMG_8609_zpsxvanl4na.jpg photo IMG_8613_zpsp8p0jbgh.jpg photo IMG_8615_zpsnl5ni4ge.jpg photo IMG_8616_zpsx9njpq8l.jpg

Brooklyn's Third Birthday

My little girl is THREE!!!! For her birthday this year we kept it low key and even so at the end of the day as we were tucking her in to bed she proclaimed it her "best birthday EVER!".
When she first woke up she came in to our room and opened her presents from us and her grandparents.  Her big gifts were a set of princess barbies and a new pink razor scooter. All the neighbor kids have a scooter and we couldn't let our little lady be left behind.
She had said that she wanted balloons for her birthday so we had ordered her some and they provided quite the entertainment for her and her friends.
That afternoon I took her and her friend Paige to The Museum of Natural Curiosity where they had fun exploring all the exhibits. (I tried really hard to not let me anxiety take over.  So.many.kids.)
After the museum I treated Brooklyn to her favorite restaurant, Chick-fil-a.
That evening her friends Paige and Claire and Emery came over for cupcakes and ice cream.

Springville Splash Pad

Brooklyn is livin' in her swimsuit over here! We have the best splash pad about a mile or so from our house that we like to bike to and meet up with friends at.
This particular day we met with Brit and her friend Cort and son Patrick and our friend Emery tagged along.  Let me tell you carting two thirty pound toddlers around in a bike trailer is no joke!!
Just a note about motherhood. It may seem like you get to hang out with friends all day long at play dates but the reality is you only get in half sentences before you or your friend is interrupted to run after a child. Girls night outs are a necessity for this reason. photo IMG_8447_zpsji6b77ln.jpg photo IMG_8448_zpswpalosot.jpg photo IMG_8449_zpsus7hfgub.jpg photo IMG_8451_zpsydhdykrs.jpg photo IMG_8457_zps1cikq66k.jpg

Spanish Fork Hot Springs Hike

We ventured out for a little longer hike on Memorial Day to Spanish Fork Canyon Hot Springs.  I had never been to a natural hot springs and it was so awesome! The hike is about 5 miles round trip and a good workout.  I had Brooklyn on my back the whole way up which added a bit more intensity to the workout.  Brooklyn was a CHAMP! In Boise when we would try and hike Table rock with her which is about a 2.5 miles round trip she inevitably would get cranky and need down and we wouldn't normally make it to the top.  We borrowed the Moss' hiking backpack, a Kelty Journey 2.0, and I think she prefers it to the Ergo because she sits higher up and can see what's in front of us rather than just to the sides.
We went on this hike with my college friend Carrie and her friend Becca.  Which it turns out Becca and Thomas served in the same mission at the same time. There was great conversation and amazing scenery.
We were rewarded at the top with the hot springs.  The different pools were different temperatures.  The first one we tried so burning! We found one that was nice and warm but that had cool water streaming in through a break in some rocks and it felt perfect! I tend to get over heated quick in hot tubs and the stream of cool water created the perfect cool down.  Brooklyn had a blast swimming around and it was a nice little break to swim and eat lunch before the hike back down the mountain.
