May was such a fun and busy month for us! Preschool graduation, dance recital, races, and Brooklyn's 4th birthday! She had been wanting so bad to be four like all her neighbor friends from preschool. We made a paper chain countdown a couple weeks previous so that each morning she could count how many days left until her big day.
Brooklyn's family birthday celebration was on her actual birthday. Her Nana and Grandma and Grandpa Giles were all in town and came over in the evening for dinner, presents, and cake and ice cream. Brooklyn is going through a stage where she won't talk to other adults if Thomas and I are around. I guess cause she knows we will just answer for her if she doesn't respond. So even though she was opening these presents that she was so excited for she was just silent! Silly girl.
She had been asking for months for an American Girl doll (she's seen the ones from Target and Walmart) so she got one. Even a month afterwards she will still randomly thank me for her "American Girl" doll. Other gifts that she really liked are her dolly that she can give a bottle to and will pee and who she can take in the bath with her and her art easel.
That morning my mom and I took her to Ihop for breakfast since that is where we went the morning I went into labor with her. While I was at work my mom took her to lunch at McDonald's (and that week she took her a couple other times too!). Such a fun Nana. My mom said Brooklyn asked her when they went "Can we spend a really long time here?!" When Nana said yes she was ecstatic! And Nana was true to her word. They spent over a couple hours there playing!
