We kind of got to celebrate Valentine's over the length of three days this year. Thomas has Wednesday's off work and took Thursday and Friday off as well.
Wednesday we dropped Brooklyn off at the in-laws for a sleepover while we went to a nice steak restaurant that we had a gift certificate for thanks to Team Beef.
Early Thursday morning we headed to the McCall area to go snowboarding at a resort that we hadn't been to before. There was hardly anyone there which I hadn't experienced before and it was so nice having the hill basically to ourselves. It was a beautiful sunny day which allowed us to eat lunch outside without coats! One of my very favorite things to do with Thomas is to snowboard. I love watching him and his skills and he is such an encouraging coach.
Friday night we went to a couples yoga and massage class that was excellent! So glad that Thomas is such a good sport about some of my hippy tendencies like yoga (he actually enjoys practicing with me). At the beginning we had to keep from giggling like little school children when we were told to look in each other eyes and repeat something to the effect of "my soul honors your soul, my body honors your body..." little too much for us so we just closed our eyes and tried to hold in the giggles.
Saturday was the v-day 5K and afterwards we went to pick up some things for dinner. While at Trader Joe's we got our babysitter a bouquet of flowers and Thomas got some for Brooky and me and got her some candy. Brooklyn loved pointing to the flowers and reminding us that daddy got them for her and her penguin candy. (She actually calls the penguin gummy candy Pingu's cause there is this swedish show on Netflix called Pingu about penguins).
The little lady also got to celebrate at a friends v-day party at Jump Time. She was very involved this year with putting together her valentine's. She counted out how many animal crackers to put in each bag and then she made a mark on the bag of each card for her "signature". I was super proud of how involved she wanted to be. Her valentine's said "I'm wild about you" and were attached to the animal crackers.
Oh my cute- I love it!
