One of Brooklyn's favorite good weather activities is to go to the Boise river and throw rocks in and feed the ducks. We love living just about 3/4 of a mile to the greenbelt so we have easy access.

Haircut
Brooklyn was in need of a little trim so we took her to her fave hairdresser, Laria. Sometimes when I'm doing her hair in the morning she'll say to me " let's 'tend you're Laria". She loves sitting in the little jeep to get her haircut, the sucker and animal crackers to snack on, and the "princess braid" and glitter afterwards.
This was the first time Thomas was able to come for a haircut. Afterwards we had a fun trip to a nearby park.

Dentist
Brooklyn had her third dentist visit and this one she actually let them clean her teeth rather than just look at them! She did so great. I was a proud mama. She says she wants to be a dentist when she grows up and gets giddy every night when I have her lay on the hall floor and brush and floss her teeth.
Our dentist is awesome and lets us all go back together and is so great with Brooklyn. I remember when Brooklyn was a few months old and they told me to bring her but she was just screaming in her car seat. One of the hygenists just took her outside and held and bounced her the whole time I was getting my teeth cleaned. She still talks about it every time I go in cause she said it was just how her daughter was at that age too. (So glad we are past that stage.)

The New Cinderella Movie
I adore doing all the girly type things with Brooklyn. One weekend we met up with our friends the O'Briens and went to see the new Cinderella movie. The girls dressed up in their Cinderella dresses and afterwards we took them to lunch. I was slightly worried how Brooklyn would do sitting in one spot for so long but she made it up until the last 10 minutes of the movie (darn previews) and then I just let her walk up and down the stairs (as she was singing songs from Frozen).
Cheer Station
As part of our membership on Team Beef we volunteer in some way on behalf of Team Beef. Thomas set up a cheer station for a local 5K/Half Marathon and a handful of us brought signs and cow bells and cheered on the runners. Brooklyn joined us and made some noise with her tambourine.
Also in March was the St. Patrick's Day race that we have run in years past. This year we signed up for the 5 mile. I felt good about my time and really pushed myself. I was lucky to have a lady in front of me the whole race who I just hung behind throughout and made sure to stay just a few paces behind. It helped to have that motivation. 5.1 miles in 39:33.

Spring Break Soccer Camp
We got a nice 50% off discount to participate in a SoccerTots spring break soccer camp by being part of Boise's Babies and Tots group. I had heard great things about the founder and main coach, Steve, and was excited to see what all the hype was about. This guy was AMAZING with the kids. The games that he has organized to teach soccer skills are engaging and so much fun. Brooklyn takes a bit to warm up to people and by the second class she was following around Coach Steve like a puppy. A lot of our friends participated as well so it was fun for the kids and for the adults.
New Car
Our car that we've had for the past four years finally wasn't worth the repair. We have had it paid off for a couple years and it has been soooo nice to not have a car payment. I took it in to the mechanic cause it had been making some weird noises for awhile and we assumed it was the transmission and were correct.
Even though we were hoping to be able to get through PA school with this car and without a car payment we were lucky to know about the problem and get a new car before PA school started and we didn't have an income.
I was worried it would be super stressful and take a long time to decide on a car but the process was relatively painless. Thomas and I had both been looking online at car dealerships websites and I had seen this Hyundai Santa Fe and liked it and on his own Thomas saw it and went to check it out one day while I was substituting. The next day we went together to see it. I test drove it, liked it, got it checked out by our mechanic and we signed the papers that day! It was a long day at the dealership but Brooklyn was a champ and luckily they had a kids playroom and some chairs with wheels that we'd take her on rides around the dealership with.

Riding bikes and puddle jumping.
Reading with friends at the library. We met a friend at an indoor play place one day and the mom was wearing their infant and when Brooklyn got home she wanted to put her baby doll under her shirt and wear her. Grandma Sandee later made her a baby carrier.
For Mom's Night Out this month we went indoor rock climbing.
Brooklyn has learned a lot of new skills at the park. She's really good at climbing these twisty pole things, even though it still scares me.
We went to another indoor play place and as it was getting time to leave I gave Brooklyn the choice to choose one more thing to do. Once she was done I told her she could walk to the car or I could carry her. She ran away which meant I made the choice for her to carry her out. She was over tired at this point and when I picked her up she started crying but holding her breath. I looked at her and saw her lips were blue and then felt wet all over where I was holding her. My immediate reaction was to set her down but then she started to stagger and pass out! It was so scary!! Thomas was across the room and just smiling at me and I'm yelling "GET OVER HERE!!!" He slowly walks over and I'm like "she passed out and peed her pants!" At this point everyone in the place is staring at the screaming mother and child. My friend Pammy was totally level headed and got a worker to come over and clean up the pee on the floor and I got Thomas to get her extra clothes from the car. In Thomas' defense he thought she was just having one of her toddler tantrums and it was no big deal.
On Wednesday's Thomas and I have been doing our long run training for the week and my MIL in watch Brooklyn. This particular day we got home around nap time. We walked past Brooklyn's window and saw her peeking out.
We've been training pretty much exculsively on trails or really hilly terrain to train for Robie.
Making silly faces with mom.
We've been swimming once a week at the YMCA to train for a spring sprint triathlon. One of us swims while the other plays with Brooky.
Cool new sunglasses.
