Here is what we have been up to this summer:
We love having a zoo pass and either meeting up with friends or just going for a bit when we don't have other plans.
Little lady play date at the zoo. |
I'm all about looking for free activities and going to the mall and playing at the little play area has proven to be a hit with baby. She always seems to find a friend to walk around with her and help her on toys.
The Boise mall has such a great play area. |
Brooklyn always seems to end up with a friend who will take her around the toys at the mall play area. |
We had a water play date with friends and they had a little baby inflatable pool and water table set up. Afterwards I had to get Brooklyn one too. Her table isn't as fancy but it does the job.
Brooklyn and Molly (Molly's mom was the teacher I did my student teaching under and she was pregnant with her at the time). |
Porter and Brooklyn. Porter's mom was another 3rd grade teacher where I did my student teaching. |
Loved this water table. |
Two favorite things, water table and smoothie. It was too hot to be outside so we improvised and put towels down in the kitchen. |
We go to baby story time every week and just started going to spanish story time. Sometimes we'll just go to the library to play with the toys they have there and so Brooklyn can be around other little ones.
Playing at the pizza stand at the library. |
We had a play date at Jump Time, a little gymnastics gym. We'll be doing this more often. The babies loved jumping on the trampolines, playing in the ball pit, and just crawling and walking all over on the squishy mats.
Jump time open gym. |
When it's not too hot we'll take our exercising outside for some hiking.
Table Rock hike with an awesome view of Boise. |
Jump Creek Falls with the Regan's. |
Summer is the perfect time for teething cause baby can just suck and chew on some homemade popsicles. We will make juice using our juicer and then freeze it or I found this Pinterest recipe for a strawberry smoothie that is so yummy and I'll make that into popsicles too.
Freshly juiced popsicles. |
Again, when it's not too hot we will head to the park for some swinging action and picnicing.
We love all of the parks that are so close to us. |
This was on Father's Day. |
Splash pads are another summer fave.
At the farmer's market they have a fun splash area. A nice way to cool down after going through the market. |
I love riding my bike to yoga Saturday mornings. So rejuvenating to be out in nature and practicing yoga.
Lululemon sponsors a free one hour yoga class every weekend right in front of the capital building. |
We go to baby signing time class once a week and I have really been amazed with the things Brooklyn is able to sign vs. what she can actually say. And most of the words she can say she signed first. She can say four words: no, mama, dada, more. She can sign fifteen words: book, dad, more, all done, water, milk, dog, shoes, diaper, banana, eat, toothbrush, bath, please, thank you
Baby Signing Time Video is one of Brooky's faves to check out from the library. |
Thomas' dad has been staying with us on the weekends and Brooklyn has loved having him around to play with.
Where did you get the base to make your little popsicles with? Also, I'd love to have your baby-approved recipes! I'm trying to find things without banana and it's been near impossible.
ReplyDeleteI'd never thought Boise would be such a fun place to live, but after reading all your posts I totally want to move there, and also hang out with you all the time. :)
